As Strategy and Emerging Services VP for AT&T Business Services, Mr. Weinman helps assess, create, and integrate strategic, emerging technologies and business models, such as utility and grid computing, web services, advanced optical networking, storage and information lifecycle management, and intelligent networking, into AT&T's offer portfolio. A 24-year veteran of AT&T Labs and AT&T, Mr. Weinman earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Cornell University, his Master of Science in Computer Science from UW-Madison, and completed Executive Education at the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland. Mr. Weinman has been awarded 8 U.S. Patents and has over thirty pending patents in areas such as software technology, telecommunications consumer premises equipment, network services, wireless devices, Internet browsers, graphics compression, distributed storage networks, and Internet services.
Until 1996, Mr. Weinman was Leader of the Quality, Process, and Business practice of AT&T Bell Laboratories, where he led a team of over 100 consultants. This team supported AT&T¡¯s unprecedented success in winning three Baldrige awards and Japan¡¯s Deming Prize. Prior to that he headed the Global Sales efforts for AT&T Bell Labs consulting services.
Mr. Weinman has consulted, trained, and lectured industry and government clients and audiences in the U.S., Western Europe and Scandinavia, the Middle East, and the Far East.
