Event focuses on China's mass market

The Retail & Distribution Forum and the Sourcing Forum co-sponsored an event titled, "Winning in the China Mass Market: Expansion into Tier 3 to 5 Cities." Alan Beebe, director of IBM China, presented an overview of his company's study on China's mass market. The study includes an overview of 305 tertiary cities and shows how multinationals can tap the mass market by focusing on three key operational areas, including sales and distribution channels, research & development and procurement, and human resources. Audie Wong, CEO of Amway China, and Matthew Estes, CEO of BabyCare, shared their experiences and answered questions. Estes moderated the event. He co-chairs the Retail Forum with James Lee. Dwight Nordstrom, Scott Olson, and Tom Canellakis chair the Sourcing Forum.
