AmCham Member Aid Contributions to Date

AmCham is compiling a list of donations made by member companies.  If you'd like to add your firm’s donation to the list, please send an e-mail to Julie Leng Julie@amcham-china.org.cn with your company name, donation amount (in both RMB and USD) and the agency where the aid was directed.

 

Additionally, you can post information about your contribution on our online forum AmCham-China Daily.

3M China has made an initial donation of RMB 1.1million ($157,000) in cash and RMB 3.05 million ($435,000) of medical & security materials to Red Cross Society  of China to actively support the medical personnel and rescue workers in the disaster area in their emergency work and post-disaster disease prevention.

 

ACE Group has made donation of $1 million to China’s earthquake disaster area.

 

Agilent Technologies , the company and its employees have collected or committed at least $820,000 in assistance.

 

In addition, Agilent China's business units have moved quickly to support customers in quake-stricken areas. Life Science & Chemical Analysis Group China team immediately contacted its customers to check on their safety and has decided to provide free labor to service any Agilent instruments damaged by the quake. The Electronic Measurement Group ( Chengdu Instrument Division) shipped critical instruments to a Sichuan customer within hours of the request.

 

Air Products has made a US$100,000 donation to “Save the Children’s Earthquake Relief Effort for Children in China.”

 

Alcoa has made a contribution of RMB 1 million ($143,000) to relief efforts.

 

American Express Foundation has contributed US$100,000 to American Red Cross for Sichuan earthquake relief efforts. And as of today, including the company matching, the employee in HK, Taiwan and mainland China have also donated more than US$100,000 to local charity channels. The employee donation and company matching program still on going.

 

American International Group has made an initial pledge of $1 million to provide immediate recovery assistance through several different organizations.

 

American President Lines (China) Co., Ltd (NOL group) and its staff in China have donated RMB 1.574 million to the Red Cross.

 

As of June 2, Amway China and its employees and distributors have donated a total of RMB35,335,983 in cash and products; among which RMB24,886,892 is in cash and RMB10,449,091 is in products. Apart from this, Amway affiliates in Southeast Asia and the Greater China region have together donated RMB 1,190,000 in cash.

 

An anonymous American Foundation has contributed $300,000 in targeted grants to assist affected communities. Further funding will be allocated over the months and years ahead as the Foundation continues to contribute to community rebuilding in the area.  In addition, staff in the Beijing office have made personal donations which, when matched by the Foundation’s US head office, exceed YRMB 160,000 ($23,000) in value.

Anheuser-Busch is donating $500,000 to the Red Cross Society of China and providing more than $1.1 million or 425,000 cases of fresh drinking water.

Another anonymous company has donated USD $68,000 including corporate donations raised from domestic and international associates. They also sent a special consulting team to help with grief counseling.

APCO Worldwide made two initial corporate donations: one to the Red Cross Society of China; and one to Mercy Corps, a NGO working through its local partner, the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, to provide financial, material and human resources to Sichuan Province. APCO also encouraged staff to donate money or make other contributions to a range of organizations, and are contributing services via pro bono work. 

Applied Biosystems China donated RMB 300,000 cash to Shanghai Red Cross yesterday, 20th May, of which RMB 126,600.22 came from total 136 employees' voluntary donation. The company matched RMB 173,399.78.

 

Applied Biosystems is donating additional reagents, instruments, and software valued at approximately $800,000 and arranging to provide additional training to process more than 40,000 biological samples that are the estimated requirements.
