  AMCHAM-CHINA ELECTION RESULTS  
 

 

The results of the 2009 AmCham-China Board of Governors election were announced at the Chamber¡¯s Annual General Meeting on November 13, at the Westin Chaoyang Hotel. The Chamber¡¯s voting members chose John Watkins for next chairman, and Ted Dean, Mark Duval and David Wang as vice chairs.

AmCham-China members also elected a new 2009 Board of Governors: Michael Barrett, Jon Christianson, Barry Friedman, Greg Gilligan, Roberta Lipson, Malcolm Lee, Malone Ma, Wang-Li Moser, Lester Ross and Sharon Ruwart. Election results become effective January 1, 2009.

John Watkins has more than 20 years experience working in China and is the current president of Cummins (China) Inc.

Outgoing Chairman, and Chairman Emeritus, James Zimmerman of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L. C. gave a state of the Chamber speech where he talked about the new chapter in Tianjin, the Washington, D. C., Doorknock, China Brief¡¯s exclusive Obama and McCain articles and the funds raised at the Charity Ball.

At the event Andy Andreasen, Chairman of CSR committee, took the opportunity to award checks to the recipients of the RMB 1.7 million raised at the annual AmCham-China Charity Ball. 

Attendees enjoyed a cocktail reception and musical entertainment from the Woodie Alan Band, one of Beijing¡¯s premier blues bands.

AmCham-China would like to thank James Zimmerman for his outstanding tenure as Chairman and for his tireless efforts to promote the work done on behalf of the Chamber.
